  • Close all office applications
  • Open ‘regedit’ by typing it in Run
  • Now, you need to locate the registry subkey and you find that here
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\[Version]\Word\Data
  • Where [Version] is your version of the word program
  • Now, tap on Data and then click on Export on the File menu
  • Name the file, and then save it somewhere safe
  • Back to Edit menu, and click on Delete and then click ‘Yes’
  • Now exit the registry editor and start the word
