10 Costly Mistakes to Avoid When Selling Your Used Storage Systems And Technology Assets

Storage System

There are some costly mistakes that people will make when they are trying to come up with the storage plans for their servers that make the most sense.  If you are considering getting new servers, you need to think about how you will get the results you want using a few steps that are listed below.  Avoid all these mistakes so that you do not have a problem that you cannot fix in the future.

1.  Too Small

Do not get something that is too small just because you are afraid of spending money.  You need to know for a fact that the device is going to be big enough for you to expand in the future.  You can even get a large used EMC storage unit that will be cheaper to buy. It’s necessary for you to prepare for the future.

2. Too Slow

You have to get something that you know will be fast enough for your purposes.  When you buy something that is too slow, you can never get to the files that you need.  This means that you waste more time than you were already wasting in the first place.

3. Used

You should only buy used when you know the device is in good condition.  You also need to remember that the unit should not be used for some heavy work and then not refurbished.  You must need  to know the difference.

4. Not Buying Refurbished

You can buy refurbished units because you can be sure that they will work no matter what you do.  This is the best thing that you can do for yourself so that you do not have problems in the future.  Plus, you know who refurbished the unit in the first place.

5. No Security

You need to have a security plan for the devices that you can easily use.  You need to have access to the devices, and you also need to make sure that you have a company that will manage the devices.

6. No Encryption

You still need to encrypt all your servers and folders so that people cannot get into them easily.  This is a simple thing to do, but a lot of people skip over this step because they think it is not necessary.  You are fooling yourself if you think people cannot get through the one line of security that you have.

7. No Portal

You need to have an access portal for your company that allows people to sign in to use the storage that you have.  This makes it easier to send and receive files.

8. Storing In The Office

Not every company can store their servers in the office, and that makes it hard for people to keep up with the units because they have other things to do.

9. Not Expanding

Expand your storage when you know it is time.  Never wait because you will run out of space.

10. Not Wiping The Servers

You need to clear every server before you use while also using these tips.
